Ibn Taymiyah’s Belief of Eternal Creation
According to Ibn Taymiyah, the universe doesn’t have a beginning, prior to each creation there is a creation before it beginninglessly. This is in direct opposition to the teachings of the Prophet, in which he clarified: “God existed and nothing else existed” (Narrated by Al-Bukhariyy). Clearly showing that the creation has a beginning. This belief of Ibn Taymiyah – which is considered blasphemy by consensus – is found in several books, among them are the following:
In his book entitled “Minhaj As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah” Volume 1, Page 389-390. https://archive.org/details/WAQ94871/msn1/page/n389/mode/1up
“Although it is valid creation in their kind would be forever beginningless, because eternal is not an expression of something specific, instead there is no moment of time but that before it there was another moment.”
he said also:
“Certainly what is eternal is the type of creation, not the created thing itself.”
